Developing your Co-Generation System

This is a combined heat and power generation system which can achieve a very high energy conversion efficiency.

Conventional power generation energy efficiency is in the order of 30-35%. The efficiency of a co-generation plant normally varies from 70 to 80%. The greenhouse gas (CO2) emission per unit of power generated is therefore greatly reduced.

Depending upon the size (capacity) of the co-generation plant and utilisation factor of thermal energy the payback time of such a system varies from 4 to 8 years.

This is a capital intensive project. The cost of a typical smaller co-generation plant varies from 0.9 to 1.2 million Australian dollars per megawatt.

Who is suitable for co-generation?

Any industry or commercial building, which uses a substantial amount of electricity as well as steam, hot water or process heating year round is an ideal candidate for co-generation.

Typical organisation for co-generation

  • Food and Beverage Industry
  • Petrochemical and Oil Refinery
  • Pulp and Paper
  • Hospitals
  • Commercial buildings
  • Large Swimming Pools

How can Enman help you?

  • Enman performs the preliminary and the detailed technical and economic studies.
  • Enman can also provide project engineering and management service for the implementation of a co-generation plant.

Government Subsidy

Currently government subsidies are available both for the technical and economic feasibility study as well as project implementation.
